Netflix announced that Barry Keoghan has joined the cast of the upcoming Peaky Blinders feature.

The Irish actor, known for his roles in Saltburn last year as well as The Banshees of Inisherin and Dunkirk, will co-star with Oscar winner Cillian Murphy in the original show.

Keoghan, 31, is the film’s latest high-profile casting announcement, following Dune and Mission Impossible actress Rebecca Ferguson.

Steven Knight produced the BBC drama, which aired for six seasons between 2013 and 2022.

The movie was announced in June. “It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me,” Murphy stated, referring to his role. The 48-year-old will also co-produce the movie. “This is one for the fans,” he explained.

Netflix announced the announcement by sharing a photo of a thick script labeled A Peaky Blinders Film.
